This was really one of those things. It is challenging to make things simple, childish, childlike and have the guts to stay with that. The Soul Pilot is a really childish, simple line drawing and yet it is perhaps the only one of all the works of art I've done that has the power to move me to tears when I tune into it. The original is lost, this digital version based on a surviving photograph in 2015. The story goes that a man wakes up and finds himself, asleep. He picks up his sleeping self and feels great love for it. That was the dream vision.
