Deep Sea Jewels Fairy Tale (in The Golden Horse & Other Stories) inspired by a poem which came whilst painting this. This painting has a direct predecessor "Portal To The Island".

Poem on back of canvas:

Jewels, bright jewels they found

and a flowering of life began,

and with that flowering,

there came a wisdom,

and a love

that lasted all the ages.
