When the Association For Meridian Therapies became The Guild of Energists, it needed a new logo.
This is the story of the Big E ...
In 2009, I created The StressFish for a website which was to give people quick anti-stress tips and modern energy based stress information. As is so often the case, the StressFish was years ahead of its time. Things happened, until in 2015 the stress challenge was approached anew with the GoE's MODERN Stress Management programs. In 2016, The StressFish retired (as he was cured of stress and now swims in a life of success!) and the articles transferred to GoE.ac. Still, The StressFish was good fun and much loved, so here is ...
It all started with the book cover design for the 2015 Edition of "Love EFT" (an excellent book, btw, I highly recommend it!). Set for release on Valentine's Day 2015, this is what it turned out to be:
The "Celebration" design for the 10th Anniversary EMO Conference.
EMO is an amazing modality; indeed there would be no 1-art.eu website without it.
For ten years, EMO has been flying under the radar, being used as a modern research tool which has already brought about massive changes - well, we might as well call them what they are, a real paradigm shift in the theory and practice of modern energy work.
So the theme was, "It's time to let the genie out of the bottle!"
I love The Genius Symbols. They have brought immeasurable joy into my life, I have just had such a good time making different symbol sets, and eventually, I made a symbol game board, an acrylic painting on canvas.
I use it for special purposes and always regretted I couldn't take it with me when I went away to a conference or such; and when I came across a company who prints custom art scarves the other day, the The Genius Symbol Mandala literally jumped into my mind. But before we got started on that, there was the vector version to be done ...
Some time ago, I sent someone a The Gift and it was a Seahorse. First time that I can recall I had any dealings with this particular creature or metaphor, as the case may be ...
Here is my seahorse drawing, the symbol hybrid, and a seahorse vector version, plus a couple of cute animated seahorses and a seahorse to print out for coloring in.
I gave a short 15 minute presentation on The Genius Symbols at the GoE conference last year. Normally I draw the symbols live to show how simple they are and ask the audience to guess what they might be to demonstrate they are easy to learn, so that's what I did. This caused a certain gentleman to give me a set of canvases for Christmas and the idea/task to make a symbol set for group demonstrations. I did and here they are.
A commission for an August birthday - Leo The Lion.
Inspired by Taurus, my second Star Sign Symbol Hypbrid painting.
Project Sanctuary 1993 had the original "DragonRising" as its logo.
Now it's 2011, the new Project Sanctuary book is just being published in the VIP club, and so it was time for a new site design for http://ProjectSanctuary.com
I received a commission to paint a symbol hybrid featuring Taurus The Bull for a Christmas gift.
Taurus The Bull is a fabulous, mystical creature, extremely magical, extremely resonant and a powerful symbol on many different levels so that was both a challenge and an opportunity to do some magic art and create something I love ...
The five petalled rose is a mystical super-symbol that turns up in just about every major esoteric mythology.
The rose is found in Christian symbology but also in many other places, including as the heraldic emblem of the place where I was born. Here is my version of the mystical White Rose in png.
I needed an illustration for an article about The Sacred Turtle and looked around for a free vector graphic. As usual, I couldn't find one. So I made my own tortoise vector to turn into a digital image for the illustration, and as it was actually a lot more tricky than I thought it was, decided to share my tortoise vector with others who are in need of such a thing ...
You can see both the links to the free tortoise vector images in .ai and .xar and my "Sacred Turtle" design here.
The Messenger is one of my favourite designs of all time.
His message of "Your are not who you think you are." is one of those things, if you do personal development, that if you can get your head around it, changes many things, possibly even everything, and opens doors that would otherwise have remained not just locked but even, entirely invisible.
The mystical Silver City is a metaphor, a major locus and of course, it is Pertineri (pronounced purtenayree).
Pertineri made its first official appearance in In Serein (2002) and was then enthusiastically adopted by Project Sanctuary players all around the world, as it is such a cool and useful place, hard to beat, really :-)
Here is the "Silver City" design for the spirit of Pertineri, 2010.
A cover design for a real magic book is a challenge. Because a magic book is not just about the words inside, but a magic book is a magical *object* in its own right - a tool for magic, an energy generater, an imprinter and also an MEMEM, to be used in actual magic.
So apart from the challenge of, "Does it look right?" this kind of structural design also needs to feel right, and "magic right" for the want of a better word.
Nothing says "I love you!" quite like a bespoke library press featuring my favourite design, Dragon Rising.
Arrived today, I'm very pleased with it indeed :-)
Two Dragons painting for a wedding gift. The 2 dragons form a heart.
There is also a poem on the back.
Sometimes I find geometrical mandala type designs very soothing.
And what could be more soothing than the magical energy flow in a pyramid?
Asked to create an image to represent the human energy body, I thought that's a challenge.
You have to be very careful when you're illustrating things that cannot be seen; you are making a visual metaphor and if that's wrong, people can get the wrong end of the stick so easily ...
